It began as a simple conviction: Northern Ireland needed a place where God’s global mission could be heard, shared and championed. So the Convention was born - and it never looked back. Year after year, without pause, it kept gathering people who cared about the world beyond their own shores.

In 2026, it stepped into its 90th year with the same steady purpose that launched it. Eight days. One heartbeat. A community drawn together to think big, pray boldly and lift their eyes to the nations.

Churches brought together - all backgrounds, all corners, one gospel focus.

Interdenominational. International. Evangelical.

And beneath it all lies a clear foundation: the doctrinal framework of Global Connections, the UK-wide network linking mission agencies around the world.

Every year, the Convention gathers voices from around the globe - speakers who reflect the wide, vibrant spectrum of world mission. Whenever possible, national representatives join them, bringing stories shaped by their own countries, cultures and callings.

Each morning begins with a united focus on world prayer, lifting nations and workers before God. From there, the day moves into Bible readings centred on mission - led by keynote speakers who open Scripture with clarity and conviction.

As evening comes, the platform widens. Local mission representatives step forward, sharing what God is doing at home and abroad. Young people fresh from short-term overseas assignments add their own stories - raw, recent, and full of faith.

Running alongside it all is the mission resources exhibition, organised each year by the Northern Ireland Missionary Secretaries Fellowship. It’s a place to listen, to learn, to ask questions.
